Project-Based Rental Assistance Programs:

This type of rental assistance is attached to a specific rental property and does not follow the household if they move from the assisted unit. Each assisted property has its own waiting list, which is typically much shorter that the Tenant-Based waiting list. There are several properties in Thurston County where the rental assistance is administered by the Housing Authority. Martin Terrace Apartments: Features 33 one-bedroom units and 6 two-bedroom units. This property is located at 7917 Martin Way (close to Marvin Road). Map Picture The waiting list for Martin Terrace is maintained by the Housing Authority. How do I apply? Uhler Apartments: Features four 1-bedroom apartments. This property is located at 914 S. Franklin in Olympia. Map Picture The waiting list for the Uhler Apartments is maintained by the Housing Authority. How do I apply? Fleetwood Apartments: Applicants to this property must be homeless, single individuals. Features 43 studio apartments. This property is located at 119 East 7th Ave in Olympia. Map Picture The waiting list for the Fleetwood Apartments is maintained by the Fleetwood management and not by the Housing Authority. The Fleetwood is owned and operated by the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI). More information How do I apply? Project-Based Voucher Units: Several apartment and single-family communities owned by not-for-profit housing providers have Voucher assistance attached to the units. If you would like to make an application to one of these units, please check each property that you have an interest in on the second page of the Voucher application. When a vacancy occurs at a project-based property, preference will be given on the Voucher waiting list to those households that have indicated an interest in that property. Other Assisted Units: See Other Resources for those units which are managed under direct contract with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development or Rural Development. The waiting lists for these properties are maintained directly by each property and have no connection to the Housing Authority of Thurston County. |
